Did Carrie Wong just pay the price for her texting scandal involving Ian Fang?
Just when we thought that the matter has settled down, the actress is back in the limelight.
It was revealed that she has been dropped for new drama series Gong Xing Ji, which will begin production next month and is scheduled to air at the end of the year.
The lead role will be filled by Malaysian actress Jojo Goh.

In a further twist, producing company Wawa Pictures reportedly had their eyes on Rebecca Lim, Ian's rumoured girlfriend, for the part first.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the role got passed to Carrie.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, however, the decision to replace the 25-year-old was not a result of the scandal.
Wawa's chief creative director Molby Low said, "There are two female leads in this drama. One is Jeanette Aw and the other candidate was Carrie. Eventually we considered the fact that her age does not match the role as it's a more mature role.
"On top of that, we couldn't match with her schedule so we dropped her.
"But because it was during the time of her texting scandal, it's easy for everyone to make that association."

Mediacorp has responded with the same reasons. It added that Carrie will continue to fulfil her upcoming corporate engagements including endorsement deals.
Gong Xing Ji tells the story of a celebrity and her manager. The role in question is that of the manager, whose romantic interest will be played by Shaun Chen.
One Carrie project that will be aired soon is My One in a Million, which will see her opposite Lawrence Wong.
Leaked messages between her and Ian last month included Lawrence as an unwitting victim.
The other texts suggested Carrie and Ian were in a physical relationship, although the two have denied it.
It seems Carrie and her boyfriend Boris Lin have mended their relationship. The Taiwanese model posted photos of them holidaying in Australia on Instagram on June 15.
