A crowd of 60,000 in Chinatown observed the official light-up and opening ceremony of the annual Chinese New Year celebrations.
Singapore will be welcoming the Year of the Dog next month and dog lovers can look forward to a dog-themed carnival as part of the celebrations.
Other highlights include a dog costume competition on Feb 3, the 11th International Lion Dance Competition on Feb 2 and 3, and a 420-stall street bazaar from Friday to Feb 15. There will also be a flower market, a countdown party on Feb 15, and the Chingay 2018 @ Chinatown on Feb 25.
