Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced its latest addition to its lineup of gaming laptops, the ROG Strix G18 (G814), is now available in Singapore. With a starting price of $3,848, the ROG Strix G18 joins a very competitive list of 18-inch gaming laptops but with the hardware and features it packs, it makes for a very compelling choice for those looking for a new laptop or desktop replacement.
On the performance front, the ROG Strix G18 features a 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX CPU with 24 cores and 32 threads and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU has a ROG Boost clock speed of up to 2,225MHz at 140W. While it isn’t the 4080 or 4090, the GeForce RTX 4070 GPU is still a very capable GPU that should also help with battery efficiency. On top of that, the ROG Strix G18 also comes with 16GB worth of DDR5 running at 4,800MHz and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, which should help keep loading times at a minimum.
Even with its powerful components under the hood, this redesigned Strix laptop features an all-new Intelligent Cooling suite that efficiently manages heat produced by the components, especially when under heavy load. With a combination of ROG’s Tri-Fan technology, large heatsink, full-surround vents and the Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU with seven heat pipes, the ROG Strix G18 is not only guaranteed to stay cool but this new solution also allows for higher-than-ever Total Graphics Power (TGP).
As for its display, this 18-inch machine is built with a QHD 240Hz Nebula display with a 16:10 panel that has 500 nits of brightness, 100 per cent DCI-P3 coverage and a 3ms response time. What all this means is that the ROG Strix G18 is able to produce fantastic colours and smooth pixel-perfect precision even when things get fast and furious. Furthermore, the display also supports Dolby Vision and Adaptive Sync.
The ROG Strix G18 already comes with a very eye-catching design but for those who want to personalise it even more so that it exudes their personality, there is plenty of RGB lighting that adorns the chassis, including an all-new full-width light bar that runs along the vents on the back of the laptop. With Aura Sync, you will be able to keep the ROG Strix G18’s lighting coordinated with your peripherals or even design your own lighting effects.
The Asus ROG Strix G18 (G814JI-N6100W) will be available at the ROG Experience Store Bugis, ASUS Online Store, and all authorised retailers starting today and will retail at $3,848.
