Borderlands 3 is officially finished and has "gone gold".
The third instalment of the action role-playing first-person shooter video game is ready to be shipped for release on September 13th.
Developer Gearbox wrote on Twitter: "We are pleased to announce that #Borderlands3 has gone GOLD! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen! We'll see you September 13th Vault Hunters!"
Over the past week, Gearbox released fresh trailers revealing backstories of two of the game’s playable characters.

The upcoming game won't have cross-play at launch when it gets released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Despite previously describing the feature as a "pre-requisite" and confirming the developer "have a very keen interest" in including the feature, it's now emerged that this won't be the case right away.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford clarified on Twitter: "To be clear, there will not be any cross-play functionality in Borderlands 3 at launch as we work closely with our partners to create a positive cross-play experience as soon as practicable.
"We are committed to cross-play on as many platforms as possible."
Earlier this year, the feature was actually advertised on the Microsoft Store listing under the game's capabilities, but it has since been removed from the listing.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed the third instalment of the action role-play title will be 35 hours long.
Creative director Paul Sage explained that the main story will see gamers embark on a journey through many "different worlds".
He said last month: "We go to these different worlds. The length of the game being 35 hours, if you just go through the main story — that's not including doing too many side missions.
One unexpected Borderlands 3 fan? None other than the godfather of horror music and films John Carpenter himself, who raved about the gameplay footage on Twitter.
