Hades 2 announced at The Game Awards 2022 and Underworld Princess takes centre stage

The god-like roguelike is back for a sequel and gamers everywhere are rejoicing.

Hades received universal acclaim upon its release in 2020, topping the game of the year lists from many gaming publications and netting nearly perfect scores from reviewers.

During The Game Awards 2022 which was live-streamed early today (Dec 9), a sequel, Hades 2, was announced.

Based on the reveal trailer, Hades 2 will still retain the roguelike elements, fast-paced action and narrative-focused gameplay of its predecessor. However, the main character is an immortal Underworld Princess instead of Zagreus.

According to the synopsis on Steam, Hades 2 is about "vanquishing the forces of the Titan of Time with the full might of Olympus behind you".

There is no release date or console platform plans but more information on Early Access will come in 2023.
