Keyboards and mice don't always have to be serious looking, and Logitech's Pebble 2 range certainly delivered on the brief.
The Pebble Keys 2 K380s keyboard and Pebble Mouse 2 M350s-also available as a combo-feature five 'safe' modern pastel-inspired colours to blend in with the rest of your personal effects easily and are made from recycled plastic (the keyboard is carbon neutral) if you are mindful about these things. The minimalist, streamlined look also translates to a lightweight design for portability.
While mechanical keyboards enjoy a mini-revival, low-profile keyboards still have a place, especially when you need to carry them around or prefer a laptop-like keyboard instead of a traditional mechanical keyboard. And this is quiet by default, too.
The same could be said for the compact Pebble Mouse 2, which uses Logitech's Silent Touch Technology to reduce click noise by 90 per cent. The mouse also has a distinct round shape for comfort and a distinctive look. The middle button can be configured to trigger shortcuts, like sending emojis on WhatsApp or shuffling Spotify playlists.
The most significant benefit of peripherals from Logitech and its peers is the software, which is far more polished than those found on budget offerings. Logitech uses Logi Options+, which lets you make changes quickly. With the K380s, you can configure the ten function keys to your preferences and enable shortcuts to functions like search and screen capture.
Like most wireless mice and keyboards these days, the Pebble devices have a simple device-switching button, allowing you to connect up to three devices regardless of the operating system.
But the one convenient feature is that they use regular AAA and AA batteries, which vastly improve their longevity (don't worry about replacing depleted lithium batteries), and the battery life is longer as well. A set of batteries in the K380s can have a three-year lifespan and two years in the Pebble Mouse 2.
Both devices support Bluetooth Low Energy, and the K380s is compatible with the Logi Bolt USB (not included) if you already have that.
Also, a Brio 100 webcam
Logitech has also released a matching Full HD webcam if you're going for the 'set bonus'. It's integrated with a privacy shutter, built-in microphone, and a RightLight feature that boots brightness by 50 per cent (over previous generation Logitech cameras) and reduces shadows for better image quality. It's designed to be plug-and-play, and customisations are made via Logi Options + like the Pebble peripherals.
The K380s is priced at SGD65, while the M350s is priced at $49. The combo makes the most sense at $89, and you also get more colour options. You can choose between Tonal Graphite, Tonal White, and Tonal Rose if you buy the keyboard or mouse alone, but the Pebble 2 combo introduces two other colours: Tonal Sand and Tonal Blue.
The K380s and M350s are available from the Logitech Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, and major retailers. The Pebble 2 combo can be purchased from the Logitech Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, and at Takashimaya Ngee Ann City.
The Brio 100 retails for SGD59 and will be available online on our Logitech Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, and major retailers from Sept 21, 2023.
In Malaysia, the Pebble Mouse 2 M350S retails for RM119, while the Pebble Keys 2 K380S packs a price tag of RM179. Alternatively, the Pebble 2 Combo bundle offers both devices at RM279, saving you RM19. The Brio 100 is currently not available in Malaysia.
