Logitech has just updated its Pro Series line with the new Logitech G Pro X TKL Lightspeed Gaming Keyboard, G Pro X Superlight 2 Gaming Mouse and G Pro X 2 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset.
The most significant selling point of these devices is Lightspeed, which enables wireless connectivity with minimal compromises in speed and responsiveness-all via a single dongle. Regarding the new models, Logitech says they developed these new entrants over three years with input from professional esports athletes, but let's look at the tale of the tape to see what's what.
G Pro X Superlight 2
Logitech's de facto lightweight monster with Lightspeed now features Logitech's Lightforce Hybrid (optical-mechanical) Switches. The new mouse is slightly lighter at 60 grams compared to the 63 grams of the original. And despite the weight reduction, battery life has increased from 70 hours (with constant motion) to 95 hours. The rest of the specs also get a bump, with a new sensor system with up to 32,000 DPI resolution instead of 25,600 DPI on its predecessor.
Max speed has also increased from 400 inches per second (IPS) to 500 IPS while the polling rate is twice as responsive at 2,000Hz. It (finally) uses a USB-C port and supports Logitech's Powerplay wireless charging.
G Pro X TKL Wireless
The new wireless Pro X comes fully featured with programmable keys, RGB lighting, media controls, and Lightspeed wireless technology. Unfortunately, there is one "downgrade"-it is no longer "hot swappable", i.e. once you decide on the switches at purchase (tactile, linear or clicky), there is no way to replace them lest you void the warranty and take the keyboard apart to desolder the onboard switches.
On the upside, you get the usual array of features like programmable keys, RGB lighting control with Lightsync, dedicated media control buttons and a roller-style volume dial. The keyboard also comes shipped with dual-shot PBT keycaps that allow light to pass through its legends. PBT is far more resistant to wear, so it takes longer before your keycaps show signs of shine. It also comes with a carry case, which is pretty neat.
G Pro X 2 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset
Logitech's new gaming headset features 50mm graphene drivers with a live edge suspension. It supports DTS Headphone: X 2.0 Surround Sound for realistic positional sound. The battery allows up to 50 hours of use with a robust wireless connection range of up to 30 metres. On top of that, the boom is detachable. It houses a 6mm cardioid microphone and features additional software enhancements thanks to Blue VO!CE tech.
