Microsoft has introduced two new Surface devices: the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and the Laptop Go 3.
Microsoft is also sweetening the deal with a variety of pre-order goodies ahead of release day on Nov 8, 2023.
Surface Laptop Studio 2
The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is Microsoft's new flagship device. This Intel Evo-compliant laptop features a 13th Gen Intel Core H-class processor and (for Singapore) features an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 or 4060 graphics card, which supports ray tracing and AI acceleration. It supports up to 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage.
The Laptop Studio 2 is coupled with a 14.4" PixelSense Flow touchscreen and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with Omnisonic speakers that support Dolby Atmos.
With its dynamic woven hinge, the display can be positioned in a variety of angles, and that lends itself well for drawing. The Surface Slim Pen 2, which can be attached, stored, and charged under the front of the keyboard, completes the experience.
Other perks include an AI-enhanced full HD Studio Camera with Dolby Vision IQ (an extension of HDR) and up to 18 hours of battery life.
Surface Laptop Go 3
On the other end, we have the Surface Laptop Go 3, the lightest and most portable Surface Laptop. This 12.4" ultra-portable weighs less than 1.13kg. Despite the small form factor, you still get a full-size keyboard and a large touchpad.
With portability in mind, Microsoft went with an Intel Core i5 processor coupled with up to 16GB RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The laptop is rated for up to 15 hours of battery life and also supports fast charging.
Aside from the 12.4'' PixelSense touchscreen, the laptop has other quality-of-life features like Omnisonic Speakers with Dolby Audio, dual Studio Mics and an HD webcam.
New concierge service and product availability
Microsoft has also introduced Microsoft Concierge, a convenient support service located at Harvey Norman Millenia Walk. Concierge staff onsite will assist with Windows-related software queries, such as device set-ups or providing guidance on using Microsoft software. This includes troubleshooting or upgrading your device to the new Windows 11.
Prices for the Laptop Studio 2 start from SGD3569, while prices for the Laptop Go 3 start from $1199. The Laptop Go 3 also has colour options of Ice Blue, Sage, Sandstone, and Platinum.
