Samsung's Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washer and dryer lumps energy efficiency and AI conveniently together

Meet the new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Samsung's latest all-in-one washer and dryer that enjoys the benefits of artificial intelligence in one sleek package.

This combo is built on a trifecta of desirables: a large-capacity drum, Heatpump Technology, and an AI that tweaks your laundry cycles so you don't have to.

Heat pump tech is the most efficient

But we start with the heat pump technology, which is the holy grail for efficient heat transfer. Instead of blasting your clothes with high heat, it applies a gentle approach.

The inverter heat pump uses refrigerant to absorb and recycle heat from the air to dry clothes at lower temperatures.

It's the most efficient method because it continuously adjusts the compressor speed to match drying needs, reducing energy consumption by up to 75 per cent compared to conventional condensing dryers while protecting fabrics from shrinkage.

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo also features the Super Speed Cycle, which completes a full wash and dry cycle in just 98 minutes, perfect for those in a hurry.

This means your clothes come out looking just like they did when they went in, and your electricity bill doesn't shoot through the roof — just the initial credit card bill when you buy the combo.

Designed with convenience in mind

The AI features likely won't sweep you off your feet (we're hard to please these days). Yet, they more or less encapsulate where we're at now when it comes to what we can realistically automate: AI Wash and AI Dry automatically adjust the settings based on the weight, fabric type, and how dirty your clothes are and learn from your habits over time, suggesting the best cycles for your laundry loads. This is thanks in part to the Flex Auto Dispense System, which automatically dispenses the right amount of detergent and softener.

When the washing is done, the Auto-Open Door automatically opens at the end of each cycle to vent humid air, preventing musty odours from developing if the door isn't opened immediately.

In addition, the 7-inch AI Home touchscreen lets you intuitively tweak your laundry settings when needed. The machine can also report real-time energy consumption through SmartThings and offer tips on reducing energy usage.

Eco-friendly operation

Samsung also designed the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo with eco-conscious users in mind. When you load the machine, AI Ecobubble detects fabric types, adjusts washing time and detergent use with AI, and generates a deep-cleaning foam optimised for the load.

This results in a thorough yet gentle clean that is quick, gentle on fabrics, and energy efficient. It also has a Less Microfiber Cycle that reduces microfiber shedding from synthetic fabrics during washing by adjusting motor speed and wash intensity, minimising environmental impact by reducing microplastic pollution.

Powered by Digital Inverter Technology, the combo ensures quiet and powerful performance with enhanced energy efficiency. The motor is backed by a 20-year warranty, offering the promise a long service life.

So, what's the bottom line? Samsung's new laundry combo is another example of how washers and dryers are headed when it comes to reducing time and effort spent on household chores — unfortunately, we're not done with folding clothes yet — and at the same time, more environmentally friendly. It will cost you, though.
