We have recently been getting a steady stream of Stardew Valley news and as a fan of this cosy farm simulator, I will not complain. While the latest news has nothing to do with the game itself or the upcoming 1.6 update, it is still exciting, especially for fans who love collecting official merchandise for their favourite games.

If you are a foodie and love to recreate dishes from your favourite games you probably already own a few video game cookbooks that let you whip up dishes from Destiny, The Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV and more to serve to your family and friends.

Come April 16, 2024, you can add one more cookbook to your collection and that is the Official Stardew Valley Cookbook which is co-authored by the game's creator Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone and Ryan Novak, author of The Stardew Valley Guidebook and Hollow Knight Wanderer's Journal.

As someone who has spent a good deal of time in Stardew Valley, I am sure I cannot be the only one who has thought what some of the dishes in the game would be like in real-life especially the more "interesting" recipes such as the Tropical Curry made using coconuts, pineapples and hot peppers, the Pink Cake that only requires melons, wheat flour, sugar and eggs to bake or the mysterious and aptly named Strange Bun that contains Periwinkle, Void Mayonnaise and Wheat Flour.

The cookbook will feature over 50 out of the 80 in-game recipes and will be accompanied by "vibrant photography and original illustrations." From what information I can gather from the Amazon pre-order page, it seems like the recipes will be themed according to the seasons as well, which is nice if you live in a country with four seasons.

I am not much of a cook but I guess with this recipe book, I might just put on my apron and start cooking and hopefully, I replicate a dish that boosts my stamina and health instead of causing me to lose these precious points. Also, at least I will not have to plant, harvest or fish for the ingredients myself. Now where am I going to get Void Mayonnaise though?

The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook will be available as a hardcover book priced at USD28 / ~SGD38 / ~MYR130 or a Kindle Edition that is priced at USD13.99 / ~SGD19 / ~MYR65.
