Some say reel life is a reflection of reality, and perhaps the same can be said of the opposite.
Hong Kong actress Carman Lee, 54, experienced this first-hand with her The Condor Heroes 95 co-star Louis Koo, and this is documented in her recently published autobiography A Good Life.
The pair acted as Little Dragon Girl and Yang Guo in the popular 1995 TVB drama, a classic series that many fans fondly remember.
Carman admitted that she developed feelings for Louis' character Yang Guo during filming. However, this did not translate to them getting together.
During the five months of filming, Carman said she cut off contact with the world and didn't even meet her friends after work. She felt that she was Little Dragon Girl and immersed herself fully into the role. This, however, meant that she really developed feelings for Yang Guo.
"At that time, all I could see was Yang Guo, and there wasn't anyone else in my eyes and heart," she said in the book.

However, Carman and Louis, 50, never had the time and opportunity to develop a personal relationship due to their busy filming schedules.
After they finished filming The Condor Heroes 95, they didn't meet again until 16 years later. Coincidentally, Little Dragon Girl and Yang Guo are also separated for that same amount of time. Carmen added she felt this was her destiny with Louis.
Louis wrote the preface for Carman's autobiography, where he shared anecdotes of his time filming the drama. In addition, he encouraged readers to face their difficulties positively and to live a good life.
While the pair don't look like they will be getting together anytime soon, us fans can always fantasise.
