Crash Landing On You's final episode in mid-February brought a ton of emotions into the mix: A dash of satisfaction at the happy ending and a huge amount of withdrawal symptoms that came after.

We definitely missed being kept at the edge of our seats after each episode and watching the romance between the two star-crossed lovers unfold but that, like all good things, had to come to an end.

So, if you miss fangirling over charming army captain Ri Jeong-hyeok played by South Korean actor Hyun Bin, you'd probably want to add these other shows that he starred in to your must-watch list.

Acting debut

The 37-year-old actor first started his career in a 2003 television series Bodyguard, with a minor role as the main character's stalker.

This film later propelled him to act in three films and television shows in 2004, including the romance-drama show Ireland, where he was cast as a bodyguard whose romantic interest is a young porn actress that he eventually opens up to.

Hyun Bin ended up taking home the award for Best New Actor at the 2004 MBC Drama Awards for his role in Ireland, which was when the K-drama community probably started taking note of his talent.

Breakout role

Hyun Bin caught his big break and shot to stardom when he was cast as Hyun Jin-heon in 2005 television series My Lovely Sam Soon.

The romantic comedy so popular that it was touted as the Korean version of Bridget Jones Diary, with fans tuning in from all over Korea to catch the romance unfold between pastry chef Sam Soon and restaurant owner Hyun Jin-heon.

With this series being one of the highest rated Korean drama shows, Hyun Bin soon became a popular figure in the K-drama world and bagged many coveted awards for his role in the show, including the Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards.

Rise to international fame

Hyun Bin's acting career was truly made known outside of Korea in 2010 when fantasy romance television series Secret Garden was aired.

Throughout the 20 episodes, viewers were kept on their toes as they followed Ra-im (played by Ha Ji-won) and Joo-won (played by Hyun Bin) through their unconventional love story which gets more complicated when the two start to magically switch bodies.

The official soundtrack of the show also garnered a lot of attention, especially since Hyun Bin contributed to one of the theme songs, That Man, which hit the top spot in music portals across the country.

Dealing with criticism

The acting scene was unfortunately not always smooth-sailing for Hyun Bin.

After serving in the Korean military for a year, he jumped straight back to acting and found himself in the leading role of historical drama film The Fatal Encounter, which was based on the real-life assassination attempt on King Jeongjo.

Critics found that Hyun Bin's performance in this 2014 film lacked emotions, which subsequently led to the movie's influx of negative reviews.

Despite the harsh comments, Hyun Bin continued acting and redeemed himself in 2017 through his performances in well-received films such as Confidential Assignment and The Swindlers - both of which are movies that aren't to be missed.

The film was so popular that it surpassed 1 million admissions just after one week of its release.

So, if you're looking to take a break from the typical romantic drama stories, this film is probably one you'd enjoy. Plus, you'll get to see Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin together again, which is a definite bonus if you ask us.

Working with Park Shin-hye
