Competition is common in every industry, but when slandering is involved, some action should be taken.

For Hong Kong singer-actress Josie Ho, it is to set a bounty.

The 48-year-old, who is the daughter of late Macau casino king Stanley Ho, revealed in an interview published on Oct 19 that someone had been spreading a rumour about her.

"This person has been telling PR agencies that I am taking care of my husband and therefore will not be working," she said.

Josie added that the slanderer has not been found and she has set a bounty of HK$1 million (SG$175,000) on them.

She said: "I am now depending on the media and my fans to find this person."

In August, Josie revealed that her husband, actor-musician Conroy Chan, had a brush with death when he burst his aorta below his navel while visiting family in Australia and had to undergo a major surgery. She added then that the 50-year-old was still seeking treatment and relied on a urine bag and stoma.

Josie also revealed in the recent interview that Conroy's condition is now stable and they would be going to the US soon to seek treatment before returning to Hong Kong in December.
