Katherine Ho splits from Hong Kong millionaire after 9 months of marriage

After nine months of marriage, Hong Kong actress Katherine Ho, 27, has gotten divorced from millionaire Wu Zhicheng, 67.

She made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday (May 1), writing, "We have decided to separate on good terms and we will continue to be good friends."

"Thank you for everyone's support and we wish each other the best."

Netizens speculated that Katherine was facing marital woes ever since she posted a photo of her on the set of TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold in April.

This was unusual as the Miss Hong Kong 2014 second runner-up's acting career had taken a backseat after she got married.

She was most well-known for her role in the 2018 hit drama Deep in the Realm of Conscience.

According to media reports, the pair met when Katherine attended an event for his company in 2014.

He fell for Katherine at first sight and showered her with lavish gifts such as diamond necklaces and an HK$18 million (S$3.1 million) home.

They dated for three years before tying the knot in July 2018.

Wu is the CEO of Macauslot, a company under Macau gambling king Stanley Ho. His estimated worth is HK$3 billion (S$520 million).
