Kirsten Dunst found kissing Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man to be a "miserable" experience.
The 41-year-old actress locked lips with the Hollywood star in the 2002 superhero movie — but Kirsten doesn't have fond memories of shooting the iconic scene.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Kirsten — who played Mary Jane Watson in the movie — shared: "I remember [director] Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired but also he really wanted to make it special even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it.
"It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn't breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him."
The scene was one of the most memorable moments in the 2002 blockbuster. But Kirsten previously admitted that it "did not feel like it was a famous kiss" at all.
Speaking to W magazine, she explained: "Water was getting up his nose because of the rain, and then he couldn't breathe in the Spider-Man suit … and it just felt very late at night. I didn't think about it that way."
Despite this, Kirsten loved her part in the Spider-Man film franchise.
In fact, the actress previously revealed that she would relish the chance to re-join the franchise in some capacity.
Kirsten told Marvel.com in 2023: "I love these films and I love all of the different series.
"If these guys called me and said, 'Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?' or 'Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?' it would be a 'Yes!' Because why wouldn't I want to do that?"
