Were you among of the millions of people who tuned into the hit Chinese drama Story of Yan Xi Palace last year?
Actor Lawrence Wong, who stole hearts around the world as Hai Lan Cha, an amiable palace guard, will be holding a fan meeting on June 28 at Chinatown Point.
This is Lawrence's first fan meeting in Singapore and will be a homecoming of sorts as the actor is Singaporean.
He started his career acting in local productions like Three Wishes and 118 before moving to China in 2016 to further his acting career.
This decision seems to have paid off. With over 15 billion streams on iQiyi during its airing period, Story of Yan Xi Palace was one of the biggest TV shows in Asia last year. Lawrence's Weibo following has also ballooned from 600,000 to 3.1 million since the show aired.
Despite spending more time filming in China, Singaporean fans still have a special place in Lawrence's heart.
In fact, this fan meeting was specially organised to show his appreciation for them.
He said, "Some of my fans have really been following me for a long time, ever since my debut. Even though I have less time to interact with them because of my work in China, they are still standing by me, giving me encouragement and support. I'm really thankful to them."
The upcoming fan meeting will be an opportunity for his local fan club The Lawves (a play on "Lawrence" and "Loves") to see him up close and personal.
While entry to the fan meeting is free, members of the fan club will get special perks - VIP seating, goodie bags, photo opportunities and the chance to participate in games with Lawrence.
When: 28 June, 7 pm
Where: Chinatown Point, 133 New Bridge Rd, Singapore 059413
