Maroon 5 returning with new album and tour

Adam Levine is mounting a Maroon 5 comeback with a new album and tour.

The 46-year-old frontman has kept fans in suspense on the band's possible return since the group's last album Jordi in 2021.

He has now said on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon about how the band is ready to release new music soon: "I am gonna confirm the rumours are true."

Adam remained tight-lipped about the finer details but he offered a few nuggets of information for fans, revealing Maroon 5 will release a new single at the end of April.

He also hinted at the release of the full album, which is expected sometime over the summer.

Adam added: "And then, even more non-specifically, there is a tour coming in the fall-ish."

The upcoming Maroon 5 album apparently still does not have a confirmed title. The band's previous records include Red Pill Blues (2014), Overexposed (2012), Hands All Over (2010), It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007) and Songs About Jane (2002.)

Adam's appearance on The Tonight Show came on the heels of his return to The Voice, on which he is coaching for the 27th season of the show.

After stepping away from the programme during season 16, Adam explained why he came back during a junket before the premiere of the latest season of the show.

He said: "I honestly feel like the stars aligned.

"It was one of those moments where we started talking about it and it felt right... and it hadn't felt right until now."

Adam, who had spent nearly nine years on the show, admitted he needed a break from the relentless schedule that came with the job.

He said: "Doing it for so long, so consistently... you can definitely start to get burnt.

"I started to feel like I was kind of getting away from things that matter to me the most, like making music and playing music."
