Peekaboo: Can you recognise Singapore in HBO's Westworld?

The new season of Westworld has dropped and it's an open secret that parts of it were filmed on our sunny shores.

There were even photos of Westworld star Aaron Paul walking around Tanjong Pagar, and the cast was full of praise for our country.

But as it turns out, that's not the only place that Westworld shot at. Now that the season is in motion, we're taking a look at the first episode to spot some familiar locations. Can you recognise these places?

Trust us, not all of them are easy.

PARKROYAL ON PICKERING

In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene, the pool at Parkroyal on Pickering pops up as a virtual simulation. It's almost unrecognisable if not for their birdcage-inspired cabana.

THE PINNACLE@DUXTON

This 50-storey residential development can be seen in the background of the window of Caleb's (played by Aaron Paul) bedroom.

SCHOOL OF THE ARTS SINGAPORE (SOTA)

The iconic wooden panelling in this scene gave it away even though we had some doubts.

STADIUM MRT

Caleb can be seen boarding the train at Stadium MRT before picking up a suspicious-looking package from his contact, who is played by local actress Cheryl Tan.

MARINA ONE

This futuristic architecture has a cameo and is easily missed if you haven't visited it before.

PULAU UBIN

What do you know? This rustic island off the northeast coast of Singapore got itself some screentime. Recognise that familiar backdrop?

NATIONAL GALLERY SINGAPORE

We can't take credit for this one because it was such an obscure reference but Geek Culture identified it as the National Gallery Singapore and has the receipt for it.

These are just a few of the places we've spotted, but as you can tell, there's quite a bit of Easter eggs for the eager Singapore fan to look out for.

Apart from these, Orchard Road, Robinson Road, Marina Coast Expressway, The Helix and Lasalle College of the Arts even make an appearance in the season premiere as well.

We've also been told by a HBO representative that Singapore-based locations will be peppered throughout the season so keep your eyes peeled.

And don't say we don't share the good stuff — there will be some local talents making a cameo in episode four, along with more familiar locations.

Westworld season three airs every Monday at 9am on HBO GO and HBO, with an encore telecast at 9pm on HBO.
