Can you hear the pealing of wedding bells?
Because we can and it's for the impending nuptials of celebrity couple Rainie Yang and Li Ronghao.
And no, this isn't a rumour. It's for real.
On Thursday (July 11), Chinese singer-songwriter Ronghao made the announcement via a Weibo post and tagged Rainie as well.
He wrote: "Today is my 34th birthday. It's also the anniversary of my wedding proposal. Thank you for saying yes."
The post was accompanied by a selfie of the both of them looking cute and in love on an island vacation and a photo of them holding hands with an engagement ring on Rainie's ring finger.
To say that fans were overjoyed for the couple is an understatement.
FOUR YEARS IN THE MAKING
After all, this wedding has been four years in the making.
It was reported that Taiwanese singer-actress Rainie and Ronghao were first romantically linked at the end of 2014. However, Rainie's manager clarified that they were just friends who got along well.
In Feb 2015, Ronghao reportedly posted a photo on Weibo of him and Rainie posing cheek-to-cheek but deleted it shortly after, thus fuelling rumours about their relationship.
According to Sina Entertainment, Ronghao revealed that the pair were dating in Sept 2015.
Despite being very much in love - Ronghao even surprised Rainie by planting a kiss on her cheek during a performance in Sept 2017 - the couple have been rather private about their love life.
Aside from the bantering on social media and the exchange of birthday greetings every year (a tradition for the pair), they have managed to keep mum on their personal affairs.
WEDDING RUMOURS SURFACED LAST YEAR
Yet, it didn't stop fans from speculating last year when Rainie called herself Ronghao's wife.
Well, indirectly.
Ronghao was a mentor on Chinese reality show, Idol Producer, that serves as a competition for aspiring artistes to vie for a shot to be in the final line-up of a boyband that will officially debut at the end of the programme.
During a meet-and-greet session in May 2018, Ronghao was unable to attend but Rainie took his place instead and said: "Since he couldn’t be here, your shi mu (mentor’s wife) came as his replacement!"
It's unclear if he had already proposed at that point, but it's safe to say that she was ready to say 'I do'.
In light of all the break-ups in showbiz recently, it warms the cockles of our hearts to see that love does exist.
