Remember Kelly Poon from Project SuperStar in 2005?

She was the first runner-up on the singing talent search competition.

Singaporean Mandopop Kelly Poon on 24 February announced that she just got married.

The 36-year-old, who was the first runner-up on singing competition Project SuperStar in 2005, posted a photo on Instagram where her left hand is lifted, held by her husband while donning a diamond ring on her ring finger.

Netizens initially thought the singer was announcing an engagement but it was later on revealed that she and her partner tied the knot.

It came as a surprise as Poon had not revealed her relationship prior to her marriage. She did, however, post some snippets of their interactions on Instagram stories.

Her post wrote: "XXIIIIIV" in roman numerals with a #RKXX hashtag.

The hashtag contains the couple's initials whereas it was not certain what "XXIIIIIV" signified.

The announcement had netizens sending in their heartiest congratulations.

KELLY POON MARRIED IN TAIWAN

Poon and her husband Roger Yo completed their marriage registration in Taiwan yesterday (24 Feb), according to an interview with Chinese daily, Zaobao.

Only her mother and younger sister knew about the marriage.

It was revealed by Taiwanese media that Yo is a Taiwanese Music Producer that wrote A-lin's hit song Give me a reason to forget (給我一個理由忘記).

The 37-year-old has also worked with many other celebrities such as Tiger Huang, and S.H.E.

It was reported that the couple had known each other for three years while love between them blossomed a year ago.

It was "a natural process" and Poon said that she never felt that she was being chased.

"We talked about business every time we met, in a group. As we rarely dated with just the both of us, it felt like a group activity. The funniest thing is that even after we got together, no one realised-only a few best buddies," said kelly while smiling.

THE PROPOSAL WAS "JUST LIKE AN IDOL DRAMA"

During the same interview, Poon revealed that Yo proposed to her last year, towards the end of year.

It happened in the evening during a New Year Party on a yacht in Taipei, organised by a group of musician friends.

During a gift-giving game, Yo suddenly knelt down and proposed with a diamond ring.

"I couldn't remember exactly what he said as I was in stun mode then. All I remembered was my mind going 'oh my god oh my god!' Also, I was nervous because the ring was huge and my fear of it falling into the sea," gushed Poon.

According to her, the entire process was "just like an idol drama", with Yo having arranged a fireworks display.

It was also revealed that her wedding ring is of a five-figure value: the middle stone worth one carat and its side attached with a smaller stone.

On when the wedding will be held, Poon said it has yet to be scheduled.

With previous speculations on whether it is a pregnancy marriage, Poon emphasised that she is not pregnant.

"I will ensure that I am married off beautifully, and will get pregnant only after my honeymoon."

NEVER DARED TO FALL IN LOVE

While advancing her career in Taiwan for many years, Poon had been in relationships.

However, due to the long distance, she revealed that it caused her previous boyfriend to cheat on her.

Among all her boyfriends, four had cheated on her and that led her to distance herself away from falling in love.

Poon finally opened her heart to love after choosing to remain single for 5 years from the experiences, and eventually marriage with Yo.

Our heartiest congratulations to the couple!
