Low crime doesn't mean no crime, but it does mean that you might get away with leaving your car unlocked in Singapore.

That is, if you're very very lucky -- like local celeb Thomas Ong.

The 50-year-old was returning from a two-hour lunch appointment with friends at Orchid Hotel today (April 2) when he realised that the driver's door of his car was left ajar. He had forgotten to lock his car.

Snapping a picture and uploading it onto Instagram and Facebook, he reassured his followers that nothing was stolen because "this is Singapore".

In a quick chat with AsiaOne, Thomas shared that he (thankfully) did not have anything valuable in his car except for his cashcard and Malaysia Touch 'n Go card which were left intact.

"I am forgetful in nature and am afraid of forgetting something every day," said the actor, who mostly chooses to stay at home as a result.

Some things he has forgotten before include his house keys, wallet, phone and even his passport.

In fact, he lost his passport several times.

During a shopping trip in Tokyo last year, the actor said he accidentally left his passport behind after claiming tax rebate in a shop.

Fortunately, it was returned safe and sound to a police station.

If you're wondering what he's up to these days, the actor, who appears in Channel 5 drama Kin, says he's been busy fundraising for a Cambodian school and he might be leading a tour to Israel or Europe.
