It's time to put on your big boy and big girl pants because 'tis the season for feasting with friends and family.

If your approach to festive eating is 'go big or go home', then allow us to point you toward these holiday buffets that are sure to put you in a jolly mood (and shape).

21 on Rajah

The festive buffet at 21 on Rajah brings the world to you in a spread that draws from global traditions. In the American tradition, there is slow-cooked turkey with Christmas nut stuffing, while according to Aussie custom, there'll be barbecued beef ribs with smoked paprika.

The traditional Italian 'feast of seven fishes' is played out in the spread of seafood, while France is represented with a slipper lobster thermidor. Expect many other delights, including Christmas stollen, cheese platters, shepherd's pie and fruit cake.

Colony

Seven 'live' stations are dishing out Christmas classics at this ever-popular buffet restaurant. In addition to evergreen dishes, there are roasted turkeys with chestnut stuffing, roasted beef tomahawk with Yorkshire puddings, and roasted gammon ham.

That's on top of the fresh seafood on The Ice Bar, including snow crabs, scallops and whelks; à la minute popiah and kueh pie tee; pizzas, pastas, and Asian fare; as well as cakes and ice creams galore at The Patisserie.

Edge

If pan-seared foie gras is not decadent enough on its own, then you'll be glad to know that at this buffet restaurant at Pan Pacific Singapore, the foie gras comes with lobster tails too.

That's on top of offerings like slow-roasted Black Angus prime beef ribs, maple-glazed gammon ham with spiced apple marmalade, and baked salmon filet with creamy polenta and caviar beurre blanc.

The spread of fresh seafood includes oysters, king crab legs, Boston lobsters, tiger prawns, Pacific clams, scallops, and crawfish. Meanwhile, the hotel's master butcher Haiko Mayer will present a spread of made-from-scratch charcuterie and cold cuts.

For dessert, expect English Christmas fruit cake, plum pudding, Christmas stollen, log cakes and much more. Available from Nov 21. Prices start from $88 for weekday lunch ($44 for children) and $118 for dinner ($59 per child).

Estate

Perfectly located in the heart of Orchard Road, this stylish buffet restaurant in the Hilton Singapore Orchard is full of the festive spirit. On top of its regular spread, there are roasted turkeys, Black Angus beef stroganoff and tomahawks, foie gras de canard, and yule logs galore.

Come for the festive Sunday brunch buffet ($168) and you'll also find a Festive Seafood Market doling out freshly shucked oysters, Alaskan snow crabs and a live sashimi station. Prices start from $82 for the lunch buffet.

Peppermint

The highlights at this year's Christmas Buffet at Peppermint include turkey baked in a salt crust accompanied by chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce, and black truffle sauce. If you'd never had a turkducken, here's your chance to sup on a turkey stuffed in a duck stuffed in a chicken.

If beef is more your jam, head for the Black Angus tomahawk with French morel jus and don't forget to dig into the warming charms of baked lobster with sea urchin gratin. Just writing those words made us feel full - imagine eating all that on top of all the countless other dishes on offer!

Available from Nov 19. Prices start from $72 for weekday buffet lunch ($36 per child) and $98 for weekday dinner ($49 per child).

Alley On 25

If day-feasting is more your thing, head to the Festive Lazy Breakfast at Alley On 25. The brunch buffet is available on weekends, with everything from Sarawak black pepper crab eggs benedict, fisherman's breakfast and shakshuka to chicken satay, sausages, salads and cold cuts.

At the dessert station, look forward to French apple tarts, eggnog Basque cheesecakes, chocolate cardamom tartlets and sour cherry clafoutis. Prices start from $78 ($39 per child).
