9 best shooting games in Singapore: Laser Tag, Nerf, VR games and more

If there’s one thing we can agree on, it is that we are seeing our parents, siblings, partners, children WAY too much this year. While spending more time with loved ones is great for bonding, too much of it can be stifling.

Coupled with extra stress from the lack of work-life balance due to WFH arrangements, the mounting stress is probably turning you into a ticking time bomb.

But instead of blowing your top, why not blow off some steam in a shooting game? Here are some shooting activities to sign up for some exciting fun. So choose your “weapon” and have a blast!

Shooting games Price per pax (adult)
Salt Light Archery  $10 to $150
Red Dynasty Paintball Park $10.90 to $59.90
The Fun Empire Laser Tag Singapore $15
Laser Ops $15 to $36
Winter Shooting Arena $21 to $50
TactSim $24 to $45
Sandbox VR $32 to $45
NERF Action Xperience $39 to $392
Zero Latency  $59

1. Salt Light Archery ($10 to $150)

The ancient art of archery probably began in the Stone Age. Once crucial for survival, the humble bow and arrow are now used for the pure fun of it.

Salt Light Archery has one-hour guided “funshoots” ($35 per pax) that include games, souvenirs and prizes to be won. Kids aged 4 years old and above can try archery sessions at $10 each, inclusive of 10 arrows.

Currently, there are two locations (West Coast and Punggol) to put your archery skills to test. Make an appointment via whatsapp at 8488-6424 (West Coast) or 8488-6484 (Punggol) before heading to either range.

Locations: West Coast Range 2A Clementi Road Singapore 129803

Opening hours: Daily: 10am to 10pm Public Holidays: 10am to 6pm

Punggol Range 9 Sentul Crescent, #01-04, Singapore 828654

Opening hours: Weekdays: 2pm to 9pm Weekends: 9am to 9pm Public Holidays: 10am to 6pm

2. Red Dynasty Paintball Park ($10.90 to $59.90)

Are paintballs “pain balls”? That’s probably the top question that most folks would have. Quit guessing and round up your good friends to find out yourselves. After all, everyone has a different threshold of pain.

Red Dynasty Paintball Park is located at Turf City and ORTO with a venue capacity of 50 pax each. Take note that Turf City and ORTO offer packages with different price ranges.

Players are required to be at least 14 years old and only a maximum of 5 players are allowed in each team.

Choose from eight missions with different levels of difficulty. Each game will end according to the following criteria:

  • Completion of game objectives
  • Depletion of paintballs
  • Game duration has been reached

And if an hour-long run with a heavy gun isn’t enough for you, opt to extend the game’s duration or with the purchase of additional paintballs.

Locations: Turf City The Cage Sports Park, 220 Turf Club Road, Singapore 288001

ORTO 81 Lorong Chencharu, #01-14, Singapore 769198 Opening hours (all locations): Daily: 9am to 11pm

3. The Fun Empire Laser Tag Singapore ($15)

Team building exercises on Zoom? Meh. We have enough virtual meetings already, please. Get your team out there and light some camaraderie fire over a game of laser tag.

Fun Empire offers 4 missions:

  • Domination – eliminate your opponents in the fastest time possible
  • Revival – retrieve and protect gems
  • Capture the flag – eliminate your opponents or capture all flags
  • Last Man Standing – no teams; last man wins the game

What’s best about this experience is there is no age limit or height restriction. And you have 3 different environments to choose from — outdoor, indoor and indoor with neon lights.

Prices start from $15 per pax and a minimum booking of 1 hour is required. Customisable packages are available, but make sure to confirm pricing over WhatsApp or fill up a contact form.

Locations: Hyperspace @ Lavender 91A Lavender Street, Singapore 338719

The Fun Empire HQ 5B Guillemard Rd, Level 3 Wing Fong Building,

Singapore 399685

Opening hours (all locations): Daily: 9am to 10pm

4. Laser Ops ($15 to $36)

[embed]https://www.facebook.com/LaserOPS/posts/4113082538736525[/embed]

Dhoby Ghaut MRT station is truly a horrible maze of escalators. And in the midst of this maze holds a special gem called LaserOPS. You might want to call ahead to find out which exit (or escalator) will get you there.

Designed with lighting, black light and smoke effects, the arena capacity is around 24 to 27 pax. But with safe distancing measures, only up to 5 players (aged 7 years and above) are allowed for each mission.

According to the website, each mission (including briefing, vesting and actual game play) takes about 20 minutes. But based on the reviews we found, the actual game play per mission is only about 10 minutes. We recommend taking up 3 missions to fully enjoy the thrilling experience.

Location: 60A Orchard Road, #B1-04/05/06, Singapore 238890

Opening hours: Sun to Thur: 12pm to 9pm Fri, Sat and eve of public holidays: 11am to 11pm

5. Winter Shooting Arena ($21 to $50)

[embed]https://www.facebook.com/WinterShootingArenaSG/posts/121242836373857[/embed]

Now that our wings are clipped, Snow City is eager to capitalise on Singaporeans’ wanderlust, especially their love for winter holidays where snowy landscapes are aplenty, by offering a snow paintball experience at its Winter Shooting Arena.

Players aged 14 years and above can choose between two types of games:

  • Close Quarter Battle where your team aims at your opponent team’s markers and shoots.
  • Target shooting with 4 players to win the best marksmanship accolade.

Rules: 2 teams per game, with 2 to 5 participants in each team.

And since the temperature is sub-zero in the Snow Chamber, winter wear is required. Duh? If you don’t want to lug along extra clothes to wear just for this, you can request for winter jackets and boots for free here. Lockers are also available to store your barang barang from $1 to $3 for 2 hours.

The admission price is between $21 and $50, inclusive of the fee to play Close Quarter Battle only, or a combination of the session and an hour of snow play.

It seems a little expensive to play with fake snow but you can now offset it with your Singaporediscover voucher. (Thank you, Ah Gong!) Once you’ve purchased your tickets, visit this site to book your session timing.

Location: 21 Jurong Town Hall Road, Singapore 609433

Opening hours: Tue to Fri: 10am to 5pm Weekends; school and public holidays: 10am to 6pm

6. TactSim ($24 to $45)

[embed]https://www.facebook.com/TactSim/posts/184827329967423[/embed]

If you are not getting any fun out of Counterstrike, consider TactSim, the first indoor Player versus Player (PvP) airsoft facility in Singapore.

Airsoft guns are replica toy guns that shoot plastic pellets and it’s illegal to own one in Singapore. TactSim is the only place in Singapore that allows you to experience the use of the gun.

Players are given 3 objectives — be the last man standing (King of the Hill), steal your opponent’s flag (Capture the Flag) and press your team’s button to rack up points (Strike Team).

If you are a solo kia and all you want to do is to shoot the photo of your worst enemy, you can always opt for Target Shooting.

Each booking allows only up to 5 players and everyone is required to wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants and covered shoes. All activities require players to be at least 18 years old.

HometeamNS members pay $24 per pax, while SAFRA and Passion card holders pay $34 per pax.

Location: 2 Yishun Walk, HomeTeamNS Khatib, Singapore 767944

Opening hours: Tue to Fri: 3pm to 10pm Weekends: 9am to 10pm

7. Sandbox VR ($32 to $45)

[embed]https://www.facebook.com/sandboxvrsg/posts/2311062078913405[/embed]

Virtual Reality (VR) headsets are really expensive. So if you are not an avid VR gamer at home, but just want to have a VR gaming experience that’s not too costly, check out Sandbox VR. Players wear body trackers and haptic suits that vibrate when being “attacked”, which adds to the surreal experience. Too bad there’s not a lot of space to move about.

Sandbox offers themes like walking dead (Curse of Davy Jones and Deadwood Mansion), aliens (Amber Sky 2088 and Star Trek Discovery) and player versus player (Unbound Fighting League).

Only 4 to 5 players are allowed per session and a minimum height requirement of 1.2m must be met. For minors under 18 years old, waiver forms need to be signed by their parents or guardians at the venue.

Glasses can’t be worn behind VR headsets, so wear your contact lens or request for corrective lenses (200 to 700 degrees) to be placed in your headsets from Sandbox.

Each group will be given 15 minutes of training and 30 minutes of playtime in the VR gaming world. At the end of your session, Sandbox will create videos of your experience for you to show off to your friends and family. Talk about great marketing tactics…

If you’re on a budget, visit on a weekday before 6pm for some VR fun at $32 — the lowest on the price list.

Spoiler alert: Not all storylines are fun. Better to check online reviews before booking your slots!

Location: 181 Orchard Road, Orchard Central #05-31, Singapore 238896

Opening hours: Mon to Thur: 11.30am to 10.10pm Fri: 11.30am to 12.10am Sat: 10am to 12.10am Sun: 10am to 10.10pm

8. Nerf Action Experience ($39 to $392)

[embed]https://www.facebook.com/nerfaxsg/posts/3552890431456577[/embed]

There are many types of toy guns around, but Nerf guns are in a league of its own. For the uninitiated, Nerf stands for Non-Expanding Recreational Foam, and such guns are basically foam dart blasters.

The cheapest Nerf gun retails for at least $19.90, but buying one for your kid to play at home with furniture as the obstacle course is nothing compared to what’s in store at Nerf Action Experience.

There are 4 zones with different challenges:

  • Conquer – try wall climbing, a rope course, an obstacle course and a drop slide
  • Compete – win team shooting events by capturing all enemy flags or gunning down zombies
  • Challenge – attempt an obstacle course that requires sharp shooting of balls and nerf guns
  • Create – make your own t-shirt or tote bag with NERF blasters

Everything is kid-friendly, including the zombies that players need to shoot at. The digital zombies are far from scary from those at Halloween Horror Nights.

Take note that grips socks are required in the Challenge zone. Bring your own or purchase them at $3.50 per pair.

Package Name Zone Access Price
Massive (Create)  Conquer, Compete, Create $39
Massive (Challenge)  Conquer, Compete, Challenge $39
All in  All 4 zones $49
Ultimate All 4 zones that includes a digital photo, a pair of grip socks and a $10 retail voucher $59
All in 4  (4 pax tickets to all 4 zones) $168
All in 10  (10 pax tickets to all 4 zones) $392

In general, participants need to be 7 years and above. But you should be at least 14 years old to play with Nerf Rival Blasters.

Nerf Action Experience is currently only operating at 50 per cent capacity due to safety measures, so you need to book online before your visit. Remember to use your Singaporediscover voucher when buying tickets to save money.

Location: 6 Raffles Boulevard, Marina Square #01-208, Singapore 039594

Opening hours: Daily: 10am to 8pm

9. Zero Latency ($59)

[embed]https://www.facebook.com/zerolatencysg/photos/a.153219942082711/870736310331067/[/embed]

Can you survive a zombie apocalypse? Well, you can always find out what your chances are at Zero Latency, the largest virtual reality gaming arena in Singapore. Unlike Sandbox, it has large warehouse spaces for players to move about.

Aside from the usual walking dead storylines like Zombie Survival, Outbreak Origins and Undead Arena, you can also get to experience futuristic worlds through Solraiders (player versus player), Singularity and Engineerium.

It’s easy to understand why players need to be 13 years or older — you need to carry a heavy combination of backpacks, headphones, VR glasses and guns.

It costs $59 per person with 2 rounds of the storyline, with each lasting about 15 minutes.

Due to safe distancing measures, the number of players has gone down from 8 to 5 per setting. We recommend sticking to the same storyline for 30 minutes as you will definitely “die” with regrets on your first attempt.

Our only complaint? You can’t “shoot” your friend who is adding unnecessary sound effects through your headphones.

Location: 3 Temasek Boulevard, Suntec City Mall #03-346 (between Towers 2 and 3), Singapore 038983

Opening hours: Mon to Thur: 11am to 10pm Fri: 11am to 11pm Sat: 10am to 11pm Sun: 10am to 10pm Public Holidays: 10am to 10pm

Know someone who needs to let off some steam? Share this with friends who would love to flex their agile moves and practise target shooting.
