Filmplace Singapore HQ is giving away 1,000 free reusable masks this March 3 at Marina Square as an initiative to give back to the community during this Covid-19 outbreak.

This is "to ensure Singaporean will be able to get masks so they can protect themselves and their loved ones." Said Lincoln Lin, Founder & CEO of Filmplace. 

The giveaway will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, and it is limited to one mask per person, so as to ensure everyone gets a pack. But if you're healthy and well, do give this opportunity to others who might need it more.

FREE HAND SANITISERS AT SUN PLAZA

Hand sanitisers have become a rare commodity these days, with stocks running low across the island.

If you've run out of hand sanitiser, fret not as Sun Plaza is giving away 100 bottles on a daily basis from now till Feb 29, at 2pm, till it is fully redeemed.

It will be limited to one bottle per shopper, with no spending required. Simply produce the last four digits of your NRIC or FIN for verification purposes to redeem the hand sanitiser.

MCDONALD'S LAUNCHES NEW 'YOUTIAO' BREAKFAST ITEM

If you love youtiao or churros, McDonald's has exactly the thing for you with a product that is an amalgamation of both, but with a much less exciting name — Donut Sticks.

The new breakfast menu item looks exactly like our fried dough fritters (albeit a shorter version), and is rolled in cinnamon sugar. 

McDonald's kindly sent over a package and some of us who tried it gave it a thumbs up, but it's easy to see why.

Said one colleague: "It tastes like churros but with the lightness and airiness of a youtiao".

The Donut Sticks will be available at $2.20 a la carte (for six pieces), or $3 with a regular roast coffee starting this Thursday (Feb 27).

They first made its debut in the US last year, where Chinese netizens immediately noticed its similarities to the Asian snack.

McDonald's Singapore is showing its appreciation to healthcare workers by giving away free cups of tea and any coffee of their choice.

In a Facebook post on Monday (Feb 24), it added that no minimum spend will be required and staff eligible will be identified either through their uniforms or by showing their hospital pass. 

The beverages will be available for redemption at any time of the day.

MILKSHA GIVES OUT 50 CUPS OF MATCHA DRINKS TO HOSPITAL PERSONNEL

FREE PARKING DAILY AT CAPITALAND MALLS

Because of the recent Covid-19 outbreak, malls have been quieter than usual as many prefer to avoid crowded places and stay indoors instead.

From now until further notice, Capitaland is providing free parking at its malls at different timings. Some malls offer free parking from 12pm, so you can plan to have lunch there, and others have free parking from 6pm onwards to draw the after-work crowd.
