Laundry hacks you should know

Laundry hacks you should know

Doing the laundry is prolly one of your least favourite tasks at home, especially if you have a big family. It seems as if it's a never-ending cycle of washing, rinsing, drying, folding, and managing this task can be really tough.

While laundry is one of those exhausting chores you'd never want to do again, you still can never get away from it because you need clean clothes!

But there are ways to make it easier and faster. Here's how.

1. TACKLE YOUR LAUNDRY LOADS ONE AT A TIME

If you have a big family, tackling your multiple loads one at a time works best. Instead of dedicating just one day to finish all your laundry, break up the task into chunks.

You can use one day for your kids' clothes, the next day for your linens, then the day after the next day, your dark clothes, and so on.

You'll be surprised that when Sunday comes in, you're at your most comfortable seat in the living room, sipping tea and spending your precious time doing nothing.

2. SET YOUR WASHER TO LIGHT AND SHORT CYCLE

If you have clothes that have been worn once or twice and are unstained, choose a shorter wash cycle that lasts for about 6 to 8 minutes.

3. GET RID OF SWEAT STAINS USING LEMON AND BAKING SODA

These two powerful ingredients when combined can turn your annoyance into pure joy when you see your once yellowed shirt salvaged.

By making a paste out of the baking soda and lemon, rub the powerful concoction into the damaged fabric, and let it sit for a couple of minutes.

Rinse, apply again, and repeat the cycle before you toss your favourite yet damaged shirt into the washer.

4. BRIGHTEN YOUR WHITES WITH LEMONS

Revive your dull white clothes by soaking it into a boiled pot full of sliced lemons and water.

Your once dingy clothes will surely brighten up after soaking them for an hour and washing it. Let them dry under the sun to give them an extra boost.

5. NO-DRYER SHEETS DRYING SCHEME

If you happen to run out of dryer sheets, you can get a small towel and pour liquid fabric softener on it.

Then, you can now toss it into the dryer with the clothes to help disperse water during the drying cycle.

6. PESKY STATIC BE REMOVED

If you run out of fabric softener, you can still combat pesky static cling.

What you can do is to crumple a big piece of aluminium foil into a ball and toss it in our wet clothes.

Its bouncing motion in the dryer will help reduce static from your clothes and fabrics.

7. AVOID WRINKLY CLOTHES WITH THIS HACK

Forgot your clothes in the dryer? Toss a couple of ice cubes in the dryer and run it on the hottest setting. The ice cubes will melt and the water will mix into your clothes, allowing moisture to bring back your clothes to life and avoid those unwanted wrinkles.

8. CLEAN THE WASHER EASILY WITH THESE TWO INGREDIENTS

Before you forget, do not leave your washer uncleaned or else, grime will overcome it and give your washer that icky look. If you are kinda busy, you can easily clean it off by running an empty load with baking soda and vinegar. Not only that it will clean your washer but it can also refresh its state.
