Want to experience nature without compromising on modern luxuries and comfort? The Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree — set to open in April 2025 —might just be the perfect getaway for you.
Located within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the Mandai Rainforest Resort is designed in harmony with its surrounding nature, said Mandai Wildlife Group on Wednesday (Dec 18), with mature trees retained in their original sites and elevated resort wings to allow for wildlife to roam freely.
At the entrance, guests can expect to be greeted by a 12m-tall Rain Tree with a sprawling canopy and Indian Beech tree — both of which the resort was built around — setting the tone for the nature-inspired stay.
This eco-friendly resort will also provide guests direct access to Singapore's wildlife and zoological parks: Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise and the upcoming Rainforest Wild (set to open in March).
The Mandai Rainforest Resort will have 24 hovering tree houses with private patios and 314 guest rooms and suites housed in a five-storey building designed to rise vertically through layers of forest scape, where guests will be able to enjoy rainforest, garden and reservoir views.
To make the stay more immersive, ambient room temperatures will also be regulated to mirror actual rainforest temperatures in the tropics.
As part of sustainability efforts, each resort room will have windows that fully open — allowing for natural ventilation, as well as an interactive display where guests can track their power consumption levels.
The flushing system in each room is also powered by collected rainwater.
These eco-friendly features have earned the resort the Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy badge.
For those who have been dreaming about holding a magical forest wedding, you might have just found your venue.
The Mandai Rainforest Resort will house a 300-seater Meranti Ballroom featuring a centerpiece inspired by the rare Bridal Veil Stinkhorn mushroom and an adjacent Bridal Room.
And of course, what's a resort getaway without a relaxing spa session?
Like many other resorts under the Banyan Group, the Mandai Rainforest Resort will also feature a Banyan Tree Spa — where guests will be able to indulge in treatments from professional therapists.
The spa will also feature treatment pods inspired by the scales of the Sunda pangolin.
Guests at the resort will get to enjoy exclusive wildlife experiences across the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
For example, there's the Wild Walk programme where guests will be able to have early-morning visits to Bird Paradise when the birds are most active; and Wild ZooDay Camp, an immersive guided tour for children at the Singapore Zoo.
Additionally, Mandai Rainforest Resort guests will also get to enjoy special rates for park entry and signature programmes.
