The most Instagrammable places in Singapore

The most Instagrammable places in Singapore

Did you know that Singapore was recently voted the 10th most instagrammable country in the world?

For such a small country, Singapore sure does pack every corner full of interesting and diverse points ranging from art installations to iconic buildings.

So, if getting those likes gets you through the day, here is where to head.

JEWEL CHANGI AIRPORT

It cost a whopping $4 Billion to make and was opened earlier this year to massive international success. Right in the heart of Changi Airport, Jewel houses, amongst others, a massive indoor water fountain where water seemingly falls from the sky and at night turns into a light display, an indoor forest and sky nets for those who dare.

HAJI LANE

One of the most vibrant parts of little old Singapore, Haji Lane is a must for tourists and locals alike. Bursting with a music and cafe culture, take your shots in one of the unique shops along the way or the famous street art wall.

BUKIT TIMAH RAILWAY STATION

No don't worry, we are not sending you down to an MRT stop, Bukit Timah Railway Station is a small stretch of railway with outdoor station that has been preserved since its closure in 2011. With its colonial architecture and rusting steel bridge, Bukit Timah Railway Station has carved itself out as a popular spot for wedding photographs and Instagram stars alike.

HOUSE OF TAN TENG NIAH

Built in the early 1900's, this stunning house was conserved in the 1980's. The house of Tang Teng Niah, a prominent Chinese business man is one of the last Chinese villas left in Little India. If you do pop along for some Instagram shots, it's worth a look around as its the site of some pretty interesting local history.

PEOPLE'S PARK COMPLEX

Think Singapore is full of shiny and new buildings? Not so. Just take the People's Park Complex for example, a massive mustard building in Chinatown. While it's certainly not the prettiest, if you are looking to spruce up your feed with an urban feel, it's just the ticket.

GARDENS BY THE BAY

Ask anyone who has had visitors in town where they are taking them and chances are they will say Gardens By The Bay. The home of the likes of award-winning restaurants and about a million things to do for children, its the Supertrees that provide the most Instagram worthy content.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE

If you want to know the history of Singapore, then head to the gorgeous National Museum Of Singapore. While you are there, take some shots for Insta with some of the ever-changing art installations.

BLACK AND WHITE HOUSES TOUR

While we are on a history route, Singapore's old colonial black and white houses are one of the most spectacular and interesting links to its past. Take a tour bus and snap those shots.

JOO CHIAT ROAD

It's easy to see when you get to Joo Chiat Road as you will be greeted by colourful and vibrant bungalows. Colonial in style, these pastel two-story Peranakan heritage shophouses are as cheerful as they are full of history.

MACRITCHIE RESERVOIR

Singapore might be known as 'The Little Red Dot' due to its size but the likes of the MacRitchie Reservoir remind everyone not to underestimate its sheer power to amaze. One of the oldest and most popular nature parks in Singapore, theres hiking trails, lakes, picnic sites and even the HSBC TreeTop Walk, a suspension bridge 25 metres above the forest - not for the faint of heart.
