One of the most frustrating things about women's shoes seem to be the prettier-looking it is, the more uncomfortable it is. You know what we mean.

The kind that looks great with a pedicure, but also cause you to grimace with every step you take. We're talking sky-high patent leather pumps that hide your bunions or those strappy sandals that cause bleeding blisters.

So now that those sporty looking velcro sandals that your dad loves to wear on holiday have slowly been trending over the past year, we have to say, we're not totally against it.

Originally designed for hiking, these sandals were first created by footwear company Teva and were created with the idea of functionality. So, not the most fashionable item to own.

But of course with every "ugly shoe" option there is, designers are obsessed with giving it a high-fashion makeover by adding their own twist to it like colourful bandanas, seashells and beads.

A recent iteration between Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen and Suicoke even produced a pair that costs close to $600! Now we're sure your dad is coughing up that kind of cash for his foot wear.

And they aren't the only ones. The Teva brand itself has also been collaborating with brands such as Anna Sui and Herschel Supply Co as well to give their pieces a fun, fashion edge.

And while you won't be able to hike in these, we guarantee your feet will be blister-free in them.

So if this is a trend you'd like to partake in, here are some affordable (and not so affordable) options for you to choose from. Happy scrolling!
