Singaporean cyclist dies after hitting pothole and then run over by lorry in Johor

A Singaporean cyclist died in Johor after hitting a pothole and then run over by a lorry.
The incident happened on Saturday (June 14) at around 9.45am along Jalan Gunung Pulai, reported the New Straits Times.
The 42-year-old man was cycling with three other friends along the road when he struck a pothole.
He toppled over on impact and was subsequently hit by a lorry carrying gravel, according to Kulai district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Seng Lee.
"The 41-year-old local trailer driver, who was on his way to Singapore to deliver gravel, was unable to avoid the victim and ran over him," said AC Tan.
He added that the cyclist was trapped under the lorry and suffered severe head injuries.
In a Facebook post, the Kulai Fire Station said that the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver was not injured.
The police added that the case is being investigated for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
Minister of Works Alexander Nanta Linggi Repair ordered repair works at the accident site, reported Sinar Harian.
