AsiaOne checks out the world's biggest manga exhibition outside Japan, which opened at the British Museum on May 23rd. The inclusive exhibit featured a well-curated range of original works (including ceramic manga), as well as historical artifacts like the Shintomi theatre curtain (circa 1880), considered to be a definitive type of kyōga or "comic picture".
The centrepiece of the show was definitely the inflatable "Colossal Titan" head (Attack on Titan), as well as a nice selection of Hirohiko Araki material. There are lots of readable books on shelves (as well as e-books via QR codes), so prepare to sit and spend your afternoon immersed in manga.
If you're in London, swing by and take a look: the exhibit runs until 26th August, 2019.
