Wait, she's Chinese? Yes, Dilraba is of Uyghur ethnicity, a Turkic group who live in Xinjiang, China.

Her boss and mentor is A-list actress Yang Mi. Fresh out of Shanghai Theatre Academy, Dilraba was swiftly signed by Yang's Jay Walk Studio. 

If you've ever wondered why Dilraba often appears in dramas starring Yang Mi, such as the hugely popular Eternal Love, now you know the reason.
