HTC launches second Android phone

SINGAPORE - Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC launched its second phone to run on the Google Android platform, the HTC Dream, on 14 May 2009.

The HTC Magic, which comes just months after the first phone, the HTC Dream's official launch in Singapore, promises a few upgraded features and functions as compared to its predecessor.

Noted tweaks to the design include a trackball, designed to allow users to better navigate the phone's multiple-page home screen. Software upgrades include an improved Google search, a Smart Dailer feature and a versatile on-screen keyboard.

The HTC Magic will be available in June 2009 and will retail for $1,048 without operator subsidies.
