2009 Singapore Grand Prix in pictures

By Tony Ng

The Singapore leg of the Formula One 2009 season is over. The Marina Bay circuit saw plenty of action as the safety car came out again, not unlike last year's race.

2008 Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton had control of the race most of the time and clinched the title in what appeared to be an effortless race.

In the Williams' car, Nico Rosberg was constantly nipping at Hamilton's heels before being penalised with a drive-through for crossing the pit exit line.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel was also a podium contender before he was penalised for speeding through the pit lane.

Physical contact between Adrian Sutil's car and Nick Heidfield's car took place when Sutil hastily decided to rejoin the race after spunning out at lap 20.

In the process, he managed to decomission Heidfield's BMW Sauber car, earning a fine and an official reprimand.
