10 show-stopping looks Victoria's Secret has pulled off in 2018

A bevy of supermodels hit the runway at the lingerie giant's glitzy annual fashion show in New York on Nov 8, and as usual, the show didn't disappoint. Long-legged Angels strutted their show-stopping ensembles in a glamorous shindig that saw extravagant, fiery hot lingerie coupled with performances by artistes such as Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers, Rita Ora, Adam Levine and Dylan Sprouse, to name a few.

This year's event had its cool moments, such as a diverse selection of supermodels (it saw the first Filipina model ever to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Kelsey Merritt, and featured the iconic model with vitiligo, Winnie Harlow) and the return of former Angels (Behati Prinsloo is back post-pregnancy after a two-year hiatus, as well as Gigi Hadid after being absent last year).

But let's be honest, we're all here for the breath-taking fashion. Here are the 10 top looks that captivated our hearts and made us want to steal their looks, stat.

 

1. MING XI AS A MAGICAL FLORAL FAIRY

Leggy Chinese model Ming Xi more than made up for her unfortunate tumble during last year's show, with a confident strut that saw her conquer the runway effortlessly. Dressed in a one-piece ruffled floral brocade swimsuit that was accompanied by luxurious jewels, an orange satin bow around her neck and an ethereal display of feathery floral wings, Xi's gorgeous ensemble got us drawing comparisons with a garden fairy. Tea party outfit, anyone?

 

2. KELSEY MERRITT'S SPORTY EDGE

Kelsey Merritt killed it while wearing a cute ensemble from the brand's PINK line. Decked in a metallic silver two-piece sports attire - which featured an ultra-crop top that flaunted her pastel blue bra and a pair of drawstring running shorts - Kelsey exuded both charm and energy. The outfit was given a cute twist with a pair of silver-toned hoops and some printed sock booties. Hey, who said running gear is only for the gym?

 

3. KENDALL JENNER'S BLACK SWAN

When we first saw Kendall Jenner sashaying down the runway in this dark and sultry outfit that sees her wearing an embellished silver long-sleeved crop top and black feathered wings with star motifs that highlighted her sexy two-piece lace lingerie, our first thought was "Black Swan". With her long dark hair and killer pins, Kendall nailed the mysterious look perfectly.

 

4. DUCKIE THOT'S PSYCHEDELIC TWO-PIECE

This might be her first ever Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, but Duckie Thot was a smashing hit at the runway with a fierce walk and a stunning outfit. The 23-year-old, who is the face of Fenty Beauty, was a picture of cool confidence dressed in a psychedelic floral printed sports bra with matching leggings and a bedazzled chevron-printed jacket. The cherry on top? Her sweet, lovely smile which rivaled her bright outfit. Rock it, girl!

 

5. WINNIE HARLOW'S FEATHERY MOMENT

The iconic Canadian fashion model, who started her modelling journey at America's Next Top Model (cycle 21), made history this year as the first model with vitiligo to walk the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Needless to say, her look was as stunning as her - she rocked a cute silver tank top worn over a set of pink floral brocade lingerie with bits of matching feathers down to her feet. Girly, pretty and sweet - it's everything we love and more.

 

6. BEHATI PRINSLOO'S TARTAN CAPE

Returning to the show after a two-year-long hiatus, the 1.8m supermodel looked like she never left as she spread her "wings" while walking down the runway with a British-inspired plaid ensemble. Her #OOTD, which comprised a black bralet, a tartan panty, as well as a cropped jacket and thigh-high caged booties, is an interesting blend of preppy and sensuality. We bet her husband, Adam Levine, approves.

 

7. BARBARA PALVIN'S LUXE ATHLEISURE

Draw inspiration for your #fitspo look from Hungarian model Barbara Palvin, who rocked the show with a satin bra top that featured a sports band and a pair of high-waisted black leggings with stylish geometrical designs at the calf. Completing the look is a jacket with puffed sleeves that we think mimics a toned, after-gym physique. What a cute touch.

 

8. TAYLOR HILL'S MIDNIGHT MYSTERY

It was all about sparkles and stars when the sultry Taylor Hill showcased her racy lingerie which featured a bedazzled black and silver cage bra and matching panty. The striking look was topped off with a gorgeous long cape featuring a constellation brocade that oozed a magical mystery. We could barely keep our eyes off her.

 

9. ADRIANA LIMA'S FINAL SHOW

It was Brazilian model and VS veteran Adriana Lima's last show, and it's no surprise she ended it with a bang. Lima was, once again, a show-stopper as she strutted the runway in sultry pastel blue lace lingerie and a bejewelled organza top, topped with a set of ostentatious alabaster peacock feather wings. It was a teary and emotional moment for everyone, but boy was her look on point. We're sad that she retired her wings after 19 years, but this final look is something everyone is sure to remember.

 

10. ELSA HOSK'S FANTASY BRA

Every year, everyone eagerly awaits the appearance of the much anticipated Fantasy Bra, which is worn by one lucky angel every year since 2008. Supermodels like Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr have all nailed it previously, and this year, Swedish model Elsa Hosk got to do the honours.

She stole the show with the glittering US$1 million (approximately S$1.3m) bra, which featured 2,100 jewels comprising more than 71 carats in total. Every girl's dream! In fact, you can get your hands on a version yourself - but at a price tag of US$250 (S$345), the piece, made with Swarovski crystals, is quite a splurge.
