A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck parts of western Turkey, causing panic but no major damage or critical injuries occured according to officials, Arrthy Thayaparan reported on April 23.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.02 struck Turkey, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said on Wednesday (April 23).

The quake was at a depth of 10km GFZ said.
