    A 55-year-old resident surnamed Guo told the Chinese evening daily that she saw the man climb out the window and sit on the ledge.

    Another resident on the 12th floor said that police and SCDF officers had asked to enter his home so they could deploy a safety net.

    "I heard a man yelling about betrayal and having to go to jail, but I'm couldn't make out what he saying exactly," he added.

    As the man was deemed to pose a danger to himself, officers from the Crisis Negotiation Unit and SCDF were activated.

    On April 27, n.CH Entertainment announced the group's disbandment, stating that they came to the decision after a long discussion with the nine members - Haru, Lu, Sohee, Aurora, Saebom, Chaebin, Loha, Uchae and Sunshine.

    On April 2, Cambodian national Su Wenqiang, 32, was sentenced to 13 months' jail after he pleaded guilty to two counts of money laundering.

    Cypriot national Su Haijin, 41, who had jumped from the second-floor balcony of a GCB during a police raid, was sentenced to 14 months' jail on April 4.

    The third person, Chinese national Wang Baosen, 32, was sentenced to 13 months' jail after pleading guilty on April 16 to two charges of money laundering.

    A bus crash on the outskirts of Mexico City killed 18 people on Sunday (April 28), while another 32 were injured, according to the state of Mexico's civil protection agency.

    The accident happened in Malinalco in the southern region of Mexico state, which surrounds the capital on three sides, when a bus travelling from San Luis de la Paz, in Guanajuato State in central Mexico, to the Chalma sanctuary south of Mexico City, overturned on the highway.

    Fourteen people were killed instantly, while another four died later in hospital, according to the state of Mexico's secretary of security.

    The state prosecutors' offices of Mexico and Guanajuato said they were assisting the bereaved families.

    The United States is Taiwan's most important international backer and arms supplier even in the absence of formal diplomatic ties.

    Taiwan's democratically-elected government, which rejects China's sovereignty claims, has welcomed the new legislation saying it will help maintain security in the region.
