Size does not matter, unless it's a parking spot.
And this Chinese woman in Nanning learnt it the hard way when she spent 200,000 yuan (S$40,000) to purchase a premium parking spot only to discover that it wasn't big enough.
In China, it is not uncommon for home owners to pay as much as 1 million yuan for parking spots as they are sold in bundled deals with an apartment.
According to Shanghaiist, the woman purchased the spot in August but did not bother to check it out until recently.
The parking spot was conveniently located close to the elevator in the carpark but was nestled between a pillar and a wall.
While there's enough space for the car to enter, the width is too narrow for the driver to exit the car.
The woman reportedly could only exit her car through the sunroof.
She also told the media that she was disappointed with her purchase and attempted to ask the developer of the building for a refund.
However, they claimed that it wasn't possible as the tax returns had been filed and suggested that the sell the space to someone else instead.
As local regulations stipulate that parking spots should have at least 60cm of space around it, she has decided to pursue legal action.
