AsiaOne is giving away three pairs of movie passes to catch Cambodian horror film The Clock: Spirits Awakening at Cathay Cineplexes.
Story synopsis: In the year 1940, the song Gloomy Sunday was known as the 'suicide song', after many recorded suicides were related to the tune.
A French lady kills herself after listening to the song following the death of her boyfriend, who was a clock engineer at the time. Her restless spirit returns with the purpose of fulfilling the dark desires of other victims.
Cheata lives with her father and stepmother after her biological mother, Chanda, abandons the family. She suffers mental and physical abuse from her stepmother every day. The abuse, coupled with her longing for her biological mother, leads Cheata to slip deeper into depression.
Holding on to her mother's photo and listening to her mother's lullaby every night does little to heal her heartache. Cheata soon succumbs and falls under the control of the spirit of the French lady who possesses the Clock.
