3. Scene Shang

Featured: KIAN Old Elm Wood Gate Bench, $280

What you’ll find: So inspired by the city of Shanghai and its Art Deco past, two locals left their full-time jobs as a banker and designer to set up furnishings label Scene Shang. Their wares, ranging from benches to rugs, are a blend of classic Chinese elements and modern day sensibilities that are just as functional as they are original.

4. Concrete Everything

Featured: Jesmonite Hex Lamp, $80

What you’ll find: This local design studio started out using concrete to craft their wares, but they’ve since ventured into using materials like resin and jesmonite to create unique accessories for the home. Prefer to DIY? Their online store also offers kits, supplies and instructional videos so you can craft your very own décor.

What you’ll find: It’s not all about cats in this homegrown lifestyle store, although there’s a significant portion, you will see, that is dedicated to cat lovers and their furry pals alike. What you’ll find: Crane is a members-only social club that has since ventured into retailing home décor. Their range of homewares is on-trend and incredibly Insta-worthy, catering to a large variety of tastes from Zen to the bohemian. What you’ll find: Three friends who met in pottery class decided to set up Rokuro Ceramics as a platform to sell their wares. The pieces are one-of-a-kind, so when it’s sold out, it’s sold out. The pieces are sorted into ornamental and functional wares, with a partiality for organic silhouettes and earthy hues.

8. Onlewo

Featured: Old SG Movie Tickets Table Runner, $125

What you’ll find : Founded by local fabric designer Mike Tay, Onlewo carries an array of home accessories made using fabrics and prints that are collaborations with other local artists or designed by Tay himself. They feature motifs of Singapore’s scapes and culture (our favourite print has to be the one made up of old Singapore movie tickets) and are available in ottomans, placemats, lamps, curtains and cushions, among others.

What you’ll find: Candles aren’t just for scenting your home, as evident by the gorgeous ones you see at homegrown label Nine Wicker Ave.
