LG Electronics Singapore has officially launched their 2023 TV line-up and soundbar that feature cutting-edge technologies designed to cater to the diverse needs of modern consumers. So if you are a TV series binger, movie marathoner or console gamer and are looking to enhance your home theatre setup, then LG’s new offerings might be what you have been looking for.
In the OLED category, LG has introduced a whopping selection of models ranging from ultra-high-end to budget-friendly options. The former includes the Z3, G3 and C3 OLED evo series models while the latter is made up of the A3 and B3 OLED models. These new TVs, except the Z3 which only has a sole 83-inch model, are available in sizes ranging from 42- to 83-inch. As the top-of-the-line model, the Z3 boasts 8K resolution, while the others have 4K resolution.
The higher-end Z3, G3 and C3 OLED evo series models are equipped with the latest α9 AI Processor Gen6, while the A3 and B3 models rely on the α7 AI Processor Gen6. The new processor utilises AI-assisted Deep Learning technology to ensure outstanding picture and sound quality. These technologies include AI Picture Pro for improved upscaling for sharper and clear images; OLED Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro to uncover hidden details in dark scenes and deliver precise HDR optimisation and HDR Expression Enhancer that detects and refines important on-screen objects.
To make stand out even more against an already impressive line-up, the G3 OLED evo series features the LG Brightness Booster Max technology that uses cutting-edge light control architecture and boosting algorithms to increase brightness by up to 70 per cent. Controlled and mapped on a pixel-by-pixel basis, the TV’s brightness level produces sharper, more realistic images.
Besides just picture quality, the new α9 processor also powers LG’s AI Sound Pro, which delivers virtual 9.1.2 surround sound directly from the TV’s built-in speakers through advanced algorithms that analyse and optimise sound quality – ensuring every note and sound effect is crystal clear.
Other than the OLED TVs, LG also introduced the brand new QNED TVs, which use Quantum Dot NanoCell Colour Accuracy technology. The QNED series will be available in four sizes starting from 55-inch all the way up to 86-inch. All four have 4K resolution and use the α7 AI Processor Gen6. These new TVs have a wider colour gamut and enhanced colour accuracy. The new QNED models boast improved contrast expression that can achieve up to one million dynamic gradations, resulting in stunning picture quality.
All these new TVs are equipped with the latest version of webOS that provides a more intuitive and responsive experience and introduces All New Home: a redesigned user-interface with unparalleled customisation options and convenience. Another new feature from the All New Home is Quick Cards, which groups frequently accessed content and services into convenient categories such as Home Office, Gaming, Music and Sport.
The Home Office Card will be a good one for those who work from home as it is able to provide access to cloud-based virtualisation solutions like Windows 365 and also has apps that help with scheduling, organisation and communication. For the sports fan, the Sports Card provides real-time updates on sports leagues, players and teams, and allows users to receive customisable notifications from any LG TV.
Last but not least, there is also the AI Concierge that provides users with a tailored list of content selections based on prior usage and search queries. For further personalisation, it also offers helpful settings, options, and modes, such as Family care setting, Eye Comfort mode, Multi-View mode, clock setting, Bluetooth speaker connection and mute sound.
Finally, alongside the TVs, LG also released the new LG SC9S soundbar which was first revealed at CES 2023. Combined with the new TVs, viewers will have a stunning audio-visual experience, especially with the WOW Orchestra – a feature which utilises every channel to create an expanded soundstage with improved height, depth, and power.
Moreover, this Multi-surround Sound Solution provides an unmatched cinematic experience as it supports Dolby Atmos and IMAX enhanced quality powered by DTS:X. LG’s Triple Sound technology further elevates the audio experience with the world’s first Dolby Atmos soundbar with Triple up-firing speakers, delivering a powerful and immersive audio performance.
