Although local actress Carrie Wong rolled a pineapple into her new home almost over a year ago, she has yet to "officially" move in.

In a YouTube video posted on June 23, the 31-year-old gave a house tour to #JustSwipeLah of her minimalist resort-themed loft apartment. However, upon entering the home, it seemed to be bare apart from being fitted with furniture.

Carrie shared with host Jernelle Oh: "When I had just gotten the keys and rolled the pineapple, I had to go to Malaysia to film. I did a film and two other dramas in Malaysia. I was hardly seen here."

But despite her busy schedule, she has "been here many times" and is very satisfied with how her home turned out, especially since it met all her requirements. Firstly, the home's high ceiling meets Carrie's tall height of 1.75m.

Secondly, it has floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing bright natural light to stream in. Thus, Carrie did not install white lights as she wanted a "dark, cosier and softer" feeling with warm yellow lights.

She added: "Most importantly, it feels great when you walk in."

At the front of the home is the living room which has an extendable dining table that converts into a round one, fit for home parties with more guests. Beside it is a white sofa, which can act as extra seats at the table.

These nifty aspects compensate for the home's limited space.

She went on to show more features of her sofa and revealed that it's a sofa bed as she enjoys watching TV while lying down. When asked if she's afraid of the sofa getting dirtied due to its colour, Carrie replied: "I'd rather be able to see where it's dirty and clean it right away. The colour is also mainly because black doesn't fit my home's style. I'm very visual, so things have to look good.

"So I always remind people to be careful when eating or drinking. If they stain anything, just get me a new one," she joked.

Carrie Wong explains why she might not stay in her new bachelorette pad often

In her small but fully equipped kitchen, Carrie reached below the kitchen counter to pull out a paper plate, revealing: "I've been eating with this all along. I can throw it after eating and I don't have to wash anything."

Jernelle and Carrie laughed, with the former chiding: "You really treat this place like a vacation house." The latter also proved her point further by showing her a pack of disposable cutlery that was almost empty, but promised: "Once I've finished using these, I'll bring my own plates over."

A white fridge and washer-dryer, hidden behind a cupboard, were housewarming gifts from her friends. Numerous wine glasses gifted to Carrie by other friends, including fellow actor Qi Yuwu, line parts of the kitchen.

"I'm not sure why Yuwu bought me so many. He said that if I break any, I'll still have new ones," Carrie said, gesturing to a collection of wine glasses underneath a small stove station. "There was once at his place, I was washing them and broke one. Since then, he doesn't let me wash anything."

On their way to the second floor of the home, Jernelle noticed the tall floor-to-ceiling curtains flanking the windows. Carrie shared that although they're difficult to maintain, she appreciates their beauty and that they could be controlled by a remote control or phone.

On the stairs sits a large, framed picture of her 13-year-old toy poodle Gege. Carrie shared: "This is the love of my life. I got this custom-made in the United States and had it shipped here."

In an interview with AsiaOne last year, she told us that one of the main reasons she has yet to stay in her new home is due to Gege's old age, saying: "I cannot bring my dog over, because if I'm working, she'll be alone... So she will stay at my parents' house."

The second floor is where Carrie's vanity area is, which also houses a display cabinet for trinkets, in addition to a cupboard for her bags.

On the other side is what Carrie dubs a "sleeping area".

The final part of her home that she showed was her master bathroom, fitted with a smart toilet with a lid that opens automatically and has a seat warmer that can be operated manually. For the shower, she requested both a rain shower and showerhead.

"Sometimes, I don't wash my hair. It's troublesome without the showerhead," she confessed.

Seeing through her first home's renovation, Carrie remarked that she was not the type who "needs to come every day to check if things are done correctly".

The renovation took seven to eight months to complete, and she is currently staying with her parents and Gege at their house.
